Great news for families requiring assistance! The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has introduced a major program to assist young women from less fortunate backgrounds. The Collective Marriage Program aims to help 3,000 girls from poor families in Punjab by providing financial and material aid for wedding costs.
As a part of this program, every bride will be given an ATM card filled with Rs. 1 lakh Rupees, suitable for necessary wedding and personal costs. Moreover, every bride will be given a collection of 13 essential items, which consist of furniture, clothing, and dinnerware, crucial for beginning their new life.
Eligibility Criteria for the Collective Marriage Program
- Girls from low-income families residing in Punjab.
- Families unable to afford the financial burden of marriage expenses.
- Initially, only 3,000 girls will be registered for the program.
Required Documents for the Marriage Program
- CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) of the bride and her parents.
- Proof of residence (e.g., utility bill or rental agreement).
- Income certificate or other documentation showing the family’s financial condition.
- Documents related to the upcoming marriage ceremony.
How to Apply for the Marriage Program
- Registration Portal: The Punjab government will launch an online portal where eligible girls can register.
- Submit Documents: During registration, applicants must submit relevant documents such as CNIC, proof of residence, and income certificate.
- Balloting Process: If the number of applications exceeds 3,000, a balloting process will be used to select the recipients.
- Notification: Families of selected recipients will be informed through the registration portal or other communication channels.
- ATM Card Distribution: Each selected bride will receive an ATM card with Rs. 1 lakh to assist with wedding expenses.
- Provision of Marriage Essentials: Each bride will receive a set of 13 basic items, including furniture, clothing, and dinnerware.
